RIT on TV: App to Help Kids with Mental Illness

>>ANCHOR: Students at RIT are creating an
app to help children with mental illnesses. The game is called “Repetition Rebellion.” The idea is to have the kids actually kids
their symptoms and then defeat it through different missions. It’s meant to work with the child’s therapist
using the coping mechanisms they are teaching. >>When you’re this young, if you have a
mental disorder, you really do not know what is going on in your own head and this is a
great way to push out that problem and visualize it. So you are not fighting your own brain, you’re
fighting an external problem.>>ANCHOR: The app has been in development
for two years and is now awaiting approval to start testing with patients.
